Dear Alan, I was a theatre maker. Iam now a writer. Sincerely. Your a life saver. Life is not easy and you positively inspire and help my process. Most excellent and helpful. All my appreciation.
The quote about 'ideas being the product of writing not vice versa', really resonated with me. The thing that keeps me from writing is the fear of being disappointed by my own writing afterwards.
I write things down that i think are good ideas and kind of forget about them. In the holy hindu text, Chrishna says something like "seperate yourself from the results of your actions." And i think he means flow, do, and lose all worries about what your producing or how it will turn out and you will then, most likely be doing the best you could possibly do. when i come back to my righting most of its great.
Lots of love and respect for Moore and his body of work. That last part about Kevin O'Neill broke my heart, he was one of my favorite artists of all time. Something that I found very unique about his art was the way his style seemed completely untainted by the influence of American comics. I just bought Cinéma Purgatorio (which I recently discovered) and am very eager to read it but at the same time I can't help but feel that there's going to be something bittersweet about discovering it today. Anyway; thank you for the amazing interviews! I just subscribed to this channel and can't wait to discover the rest!
Really enjoying this chat, soon I want to reread all of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Cinema Purgatorio. That's great to hear about the possibility of a posthumous Collab with B. Catling, I'll look out for more about that.
Both Moore and Eno, along with long-time Eno-collaborator David Bowie, have all expressed interest in the occult at one time or another during their careers. ♥️

God, I hope Alan Moore lives forever !
Push him to the front of the line when they develop the fountain of youth.
He will. He will be reincarnated by his snake god.
Agreed brother...He's the only thing between me and the river sometimes...
If he's right about his understanding of the nature of time then he will.

I understand that sentiment. Perhaps the more you write the less disappointed you will become.
By writing I discover what I think, and unclog the brain...

Same theory about creativity in music described by Brian Eno.

Did I read somewhere that Alan is writing a five book fantasy series called 'The Long London'?
Yes, that's what he's working on now. Book one might even be out by next year!
